Are you and your child anxiously preparing for the 11 plus exams? Reviewing thoroughly using the 11 plus practice papers can get a bit draining.
We strongly advise you to take it slow and focus on the learning process. It is far more important to analyze the questions carefully, understand the concepts, then apply these learnings rather than simply completing all those practice tests.
Especially for the subject of 11 plus vocabulary where your child cannot simply memorize the definition of the words. Children learn when they understand. They are able to understand when they are engaged. With that, KidSmart understands the role of games and fun when studying for the exam.
KidSmart has officially launched a vocabulary-building word games: wordhive, cowboy, ancient tablet word game, and alien eggs to help your child learn in a fun and interactive way . With this, your child will be exposed to different concepts to further develop their language and vocabulary in a fun way without having to simply just memorize or remember. Games allow children to stay stimulated!
To play wordhive, all you need to do is select a topic from the choices: adjectives, adverbs, nouns, and spelling. After selecting, there will be words displayed on the screen in a beehive and your child has to select the correct adjectives, adverbs, nouns, and spelling!
Cowboy helps your child develop better vocabulary and spelling! All you need to do is guess the correct letters to complete the whole world. There will be a hint at the topmost part of the screen to help you identify the right word.
This game will first ask you about your child's year level. Once your child has input their year level, they need to match the word in the ancient tablet with the correct meaning. This helps your child develop deeper vocabulary rather than just memorizing the dictionary!
To help your child learn more about synonyms and antonyms, alien eggs is a great way to help them out! They have to first choose which they want to focus on - synonyms or antonyms? After choosing, they will have to match the word pair of synonyms or antonyms to make the alien eggs disappear! How fun and exciting.
Research shows that word games are a great tool to teach English concepts - spelling, deepening of the vocabulary, and sentence structure. These games are surely an exciting and fun way to help your child prepare for the 11 plus vocabulary exams!
These resources and learning tools are created to benefit your child's learning and make your review more effective. KidSmart has always been committed to provide support to parents and children studying for these tests.
